So I finally finished the epic Latymer Upper School Scrapbook project.
Here are some before and after photos:
The cloth spine was repaired with dyed aerolinen, with a manilla spine stiffener.
After all the paper repairs had been completed, the text-block was re-sewn onto wide tapes, which had already been attached to the back board. Since so many pages had been taken out the text-block was too thin to fit back properly into the case, so it was decided that it wouldn’t be attached to the front board. The ends of the tapes were enclosed in a toned paper flange.
After sewing the spine was covered with toned Japanese paper, which covered the edges of the paper flange. The inside of the spine was covered over with a strip of toned aerolinen, which secured the manilla spine stiffener.
All paper repairs were with toned Japanese paper adhered with WSP.
